Dialog - DOT 5 (12")

Dialog – DOT 5

Dialog, the collaborative project of Samuel van Dijk and Rasmus Hedlund, return with DOT 05, the fifth release on their own Finnish imprint, Dot Records — short for Dialog Of Thoughts.

Revisiting material from their first two DOT releases, the duo strip away the vocal elements to reveal the rhythmic foundations of their dubwise electronics. Across four reworked cuts, heavyweight bass, spacious delays and intricate percussion take centre stage, exploring the fertile ground between dub techno, downtempo and trip-hop.

'DOT' and 'Only If You Know' settle into hypnotic, Bristol-influenced grooves, where crisp rimshots and rolling low frequencies meet the unhurried pulse of classic dub. On the flip, 'Book Of Life' and 'Warm' venture into deeper, more abstract territory, with scattered rhythms, cavernous reverberations and echoes that dissolve into open space.

A fresh perspective on familiar material, bringing the duo's meticulous production into sharper focus. Deep, immersive and essential.
