Dialog – DOT 6

Dialog, the collaborative project of Samuel van Dijk and Rasmus Hedlund, continue their exploration of rhythm, texture and space with DOT 06, the sixth instalment on their own Finnish imprint, Dot Records - short for Dialog Of Thoughts.

Following the same approach as DOT 05, this four-track EP revisits material from the duo's first two DOT releases, stripping away the original vocals to expose the rhythmic foundations of their dubwise electronics. 'Stranger', 'Together', 'Respect' and 'High Grade' are reimagined as instrumental versions, shifting the focus towards heavyweight bass, intricate percussion and the interplay of echo and atmosphere.

Rooted in classic dub traditions while drawing on the hypnotic repetition and spatial depth of dub techno, these versions allow the production to unfold on its own terms. Rhythms settle into deep, meditative grooves as reverberations stretch into open space, revealing fresh details within the original arrangements.

A further excursion into Dialog's richly textured sound world, where restraint, low-frequency pressure and carefully sculpted space do the talking.
