Dialog – DOT 3

Dialog, the collaborative project of Samuel van Dijk (VC-118A) and Rasmus Hedlund, return with DOT 03, the third instalment in their ongoing exploration of roots-inspired dub techno. Joining them once again is Jamaica-born, Finland-based vocalist Benji, whose soulful delivery and reflective lyrics bring a distinctly human dimension to the duo's deep, atmospheric productions.

Across two original tracks, Benji reflects on the forces shaping both the world around us and our inner lives. 'Better Way' rides a driving steppers rhythm, calling for fresh perspectives on humanity's enduring struggles, while 'Child Was I' moves into more introspective territory, exploring how experience and memory shape our sense of self.

Both tracks are accompanied by instrumental versions, allowing Dialog's intricate production to take centre stage. Warm, melancholic synth melodies, heavyweight basslines and spacious, echo-drenched percussion unfold with hypnotic depth, drawing equally from classic Jamaican dub traditions and the immersive textures of modern dub techno.

A finely crafted meeting of roots consciousness and forward-thinking electronic production, with plenty of space for the message and music to resonate.
